Meet Dr. Kenneth Chow, a reputable Certified Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Chow studied at the University of Southern California, where he completed his dental education in 1992. His passion for oral and maxillofacial surgery led him to the Loyola Medical Centre in Chicago, where he embarked on a rigorous 4-year residency program. By 1996, he had successfully completed the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program.
Dr. Chow’s dedication to education and mentorship has left an indelible mark. For over 27 years, he has served as an Associate Clinical Professor at UBC Dental School, sharing his expertise with aspiring dental professionals through study clubs and continuing education courses. He has also been an active contributor to the medical and dental field, presenting lectures to healthcare practitioners.
Returning to his hometown, Vancouver, Dr. Chow not only began delivering top-tier Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical treatment but also became actively engaged in his community. With nearly three decades of marriage, Dr. Chow is also a proud parent of three children who are also currently pursuing careers in Dental School.
His involvement extends beyond the clinic. Dr. Chow has played a pivotal role as the Ethics Chair and Board member of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC, served on the BCDA Pandemic Task Force, and presently volunteers with the BCDA Task Force on Staff Shortages. He is passionate about raising funds for geriatric care and underserved children in the community, supporting organizations like BC Children’s Hospital, BC Cancer Agency, and Villa Cathay Senior Facility (Co-Chair for Enhanced Care).

Meet Dr. Jason Choi, an esteemed Certified Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Choi studied at the University of Southern California, where he completed his dental education in 2003. During his time at USC, he actively participated in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Selective Program and received the prestigious American Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons Award for outstanding achievement in the field.
His pursuit of excellence continued with a comprehensive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, culminating in 2011. This rigorous four-year program equipped Dr. Choi with extensive experience in various facets of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery, implant procedures, bone grafting, pathology, infections, trauma, and facial reconstruction. Dr. Choi also holds a staff position at BC Children’s Hospital, where he provides both emergency and standard care.
An ardent educator, Dr. Choi currently serves as an assistant clinical professor at UBC, contributing to the teaching curriculum for undergraduate, graduate prosthodontic, and graduate pediatric programs. His commitment to education extends to the community, where he volunteers at events such as the annual CCDSBC Health Fair and the annual Success Health Fair.
Dr. Choi’s affiliations include memberships with professional organizations such as the BC Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, College of Dental Surgeons of BC, BC Dental Association, Dental Specialist Society, American Dental Education Association, and the Chinese Canadian Dental Association of BC. His extensive contributions to the field are complemented by presentations and publications on topics ranging from oral pathology to implant management. At OMS Group, Dr. Jason Choi’s dedication, knowledge, and commitment to patient care shine as bright as his extensive educational and professional journey.
Meet Dr. David Yang, a respected Certified Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Yang’s academia includes a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto in 2005, with a major in Biology from the same institution between 1997 and 2000. He pursued post-graduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical Center from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, he completed a General Practice Residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center, including Memorial-Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, from 2005 to 2006.
Dr. Yang is the Provincial Practice Leader in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the BC Cancer Agency, where he focuses on providing comprehensive oral surgical care to approximately 600 cancer patients annually. His dedication to advancing patient care extends beyond clinical practice and into the realm of clinical research. As a co-author of the ‘Oral Care Manual for the Cancer Patient,’ Dr. Yang contributes significantly to his field.
Dr. Yang’s professional associations and certifications include being a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada since 2012, and his successful completion of the National Dental Examination Board of Canada in 2005. He is an active member of the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (2017-present), the International Society of Oral Oncology (2017-present), and various other dental and surgical professional organizations.
Dr. Yang’s dedication to education is evident through his role as Clinical Supervisor for the General Practice Residency at the University of British Columbia since 2018. He also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia, contributing to the teaching curriculum for undergraduate, graduate prosthodontic, and oral pathology residents since 2014. We are honored to have Dr. David Yang’s unwavering dedication, wealth of expertise, and his wholehearted commitment to exceptional patient care as a part of the OMS Group team.
Dr. Cheung is a dual-degree Certified Specialist (DMD, MD) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed his dental degree (DMD) at the University of British Columbia, graduating top of his class and receiving the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia Gold Medal. He subsequently earned his medical degree (MD) and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. Dr. Cheung’s dedication to excellence in the field is further exemplified by his recognition as a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCDC).
Dr. Cheung’s academic and clinical achievements have been recognized with numerous honours, including the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award, the British Columbia Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award, the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Prize, and the American Academy of Oral Medicine Prize.
He currently serves as a staff surgeon at Vancouver General Hospital and the BC Cancer Agency. Additionally, he holds academic appointments across multiple teaching sites at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Cheung is actively involved in the training of dental students and residents across a range of specialties, including periodontics, prosthodontics, and oral and maxillofacial surgery.
